SECURITY STAFF TRAINING
Our SECURITY STAFF TRAINING is designed to turn your security personnel into security experts of the highest level. We provide many topics of instruction based on our experience and training from our time as military security specialists. This goes above standard “guard card” or security familiarization training. While these types of standard classes and courses develop a base, our aim is to build upon that base and turn your staff into specialized security assets.
PACKAGES AND OPTIONS
ACCESS CONTROL TRAINING: We will teach your personnel how to fully secure the perimeter of your facility and ensure only authorized individuals enter your area or buildings. We discuss how to properly spot potential threats, ensure full coverage of the perimeter is maintained, how to deal with individuals attempting to gain access, how to handle “sovereign citizens” or “first-amendment auditors” photographing or videoing your campus, how to detect fake identification or credentials, how to respond to law enforcement requests to enter the property, and the legalities of using force to deny entry.
PATROL TRAINING: Patrolling a campus or area seems easy enough, you simply need to look and listen for problems. However, there are so many variables and situations that can occur that it is important to ensure your staff are prepared for any eventuality. We can teach them how to fully secure a campus, what behaviors are suspicious or threatening, how to respond to various emergencies or threats, how to talk to law enforcement personnel, how to de-escalate volatile situations, and the legal issues regarding use of force while patrolling.
THREAT DETECTION TRAINING: Similar to our INSIDER THREAT IDENTIFICATION training and PERSONAL SECURITY ORIENTATION but tailored to security operations, threat detection training for security personnel covers a range of topics focused on identifying and preventing threats but from the perspective of a security officer or manager. We cover behavioral threat indicators, body language clues, suspicious activity, threat reporting, and notification.
USE OF FORCE TRAINING: Using force can be a legal nightmare. Your people need to know when and how they can use force to protect themselves, other personnel, property, and confidential information. We can show them the law and administrative policy regarding using force properly at your organization’s facilities and how to abide by it while still maintaining the security of your people and assets. We cover appropriate use of force, what is justified, what the laws are regarding the use of force, what types of weapons or equipment they can use, and how to report uses of force to law enforcement and their own management.
ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS TRAINING: While most security officers learn how to operate their electronic security systems like cameras, alarms, and access control via on-the-job training, it is important they understand and can utilize the full capabilities of installed systems at your organization. We can show your team how to fully take advantage and leverage your systems to provide total electronic security coverage.
WEAPONS SAFETY/HANDLING PROCEDURES: For organizations that employ armed security, it is vital that your security team understand how to properly handle their weapons. Let us apply our extensive knowledge of firearms safety and handling gained through decades of experience in the US military to your security staff. We train on proper handling, moving with weapons, weapons safety rules, moving under fire, moving towards a threat, when to use firearms, and how to handle the stress and physiological effects of a hostile or deadly encounter.
