DISENGAGE SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING
DISENGAGE SELF-DEFENSE (DSD) training is not martial arts or a striking based form of self-defense. We developed DSD as a means of disengaging from a hostile individual if a physical confrontation occurs. Incorporating military combatives, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu techniques, we provide employees with a set of simple maneuvers they can use to extricate themselves from chokes, restraints, and mounts and gain a position of advantage over their attacker. Disengagement and escape from the situation will keep your people alive and that is our ultimate goal.
As stated, this is not a combat course or a form of martial arts. We are not teaching you how to fight. In today’s world, with so many more people that are skilled in fighting than ever before, there is no way to gauge how skilled the person you are facing is. Because of that, we do not recommend staying to fight, we recommend using the techniques taught in the DSD course to find a way out of the situation and let law enforcement or security personnel deal with the threat. Being able to do this still takes some skill and effort and must be trained properly.
The moves taught in this course are designed to surprise attackers and give your employees crucial moments they can use to disengage from the fight. We teach how to escape various types of chokes, how to escape restraints, how to avoid takedowns, and how to switch from a position of disadvantage to a position of advantage.
DSD can either be accomplished in a single training event lasting eight hours, split into multiple training events, or incorporated into one of the other courses we offer such as ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT RESPONSE or the WORKPLACE DE-ESCALATION TACTICS training.
